Build, runes, synergies, counters, lore. Gnar is a top-lane champion in “League of Legends” known for his ability to transform into a powerful melee fighter.

General Description

Gnar is a unique champion that can switch between two forms: Mini Gnar, a ranged fighter with crowd control abilities, and Mega Gnar, a powerful melee fighter with a large area-of-effect ultimate. He excels at kiting enemies in his Mini form, and can engage and disrupt enemies in his Mega form.

Gnar Build

Gnar typically builds a mix of offensive and defensive items, depending on his team’s needs and the enemy team’s composition. Black Cleaver and Frozen Mallet are common items on Gnar, as they help him shred armor and slow enemies. He can also opt for items that increase his survivability, such as Randuin’s Omen or Sterak’s Gage.

Gnar Runes

In the rune tree, Gnar typically runs Press the Attack or Conqueror for more damage output. He can also choose to run Grasp of the Undying for more sustain in lane.

Gnar Synergies

Gnar works well with allies who can provide additional crowd control or engage, such as Sejuani or Malphite. He also pairs well with allies who can protect him and peel for him, such as Lulu or Janna.

Gnar can struggle against enemies who can gap-close and burst him down quickly, such as Renekton or Darius. To counter him, it is important to engage on him when he is in his Mini form and to try to avoid his crowd control abilities.

Gnar is a yordle who was frozen in True Ice for thousands of years before being thawed out in modern-day Runeterra. He struggles to adapt to the new world around him and his unpredictable transformation between Mini and Mega forms can make him a danger to himself and those around him.
